The personal information we collect

Email addresses and domain names

When you subscribe to receive email alerts for one or more domains, we store a mapping between your email address and those domains, as well as a small amount on anonymous configuration information for your subscription.

We categorise and treat both the email address and domain name as "personal information" as either may be - for instance "[email protected]" or "www.john-doe-blog.com".

Stripe customer details reference

To facilitate tracking of subscription state we keep a reference to your customer details held in Stripe. We use this reference to associate your subscription in dnstwister with the same in Stripe.

We do not store any other Stripe-sourced information, but we do access a small set of Stripe-held information including non-sensitive card information (for instance the last four digits of your currently-configured card) to display on subscription management pages.

Logs

The logs generated by the dnstwister web application are archived in Papertrail. They will only be reviewed by the developer to troubleshoot production-site issues. These logs will never be shared with any other party.

Cookies

dnstwister will set a single short-lived session cookie when you visit the site from a campaign or affiliate link to assist in conversion tracking.

One or more of the third-party services mentioned below may set cookies.

How we store your personal information

Your personal information is stored with a third-party, Heroku, along with all other information used to operate dnstwister.

How we use your personal information

Your personal information will be used solely for purpose of providing the service(s) you request from dnstwister.

If you unsubscribe from receiving email alerts for a domain, we permanently delete your email-to-domain(s) mapping from our database and your customer, subscription and payment information from Stripe.

Law enforcement

It is possible that we may be required by court order to provide information about our customers to third parties. We may also be required to provide information pursuant to law, applicable regulation, subpoena or other legal process. It is our policy to ensure adherence to the due process of law in all such legal requests. If we are required to provide information under these circumstances, we will, whenever possible, attempt to inform users whose information we are compelled to produce.
